Brazilian jiu jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on ground fighting and submission grappling. It emphasizes technique and leverage, allowing smaller individuals to defend themselves against larger opponents.
No prior experience is necessary! Our classes are designed to guide you through the basics with the help of the coaches and more experienced students.
We teach students of all ages, starting as young as 4 years old.
For Gi classes, a gi (traditional martial arts uniform) is required. If you don't have a gi, comfortable athletic clothing that allows for movement is acceptable. If you are attending a class for the first time, please reach out to us prior and we may be able to provide a loaner gi for class.
We recommend attending classes at least 2-3 times a week to see progress and improvement. Consistency is key for improvement.
While BJJ involves physical contact and grappling, it is generally considered safe when practiced with proper technique and under the supervision of qualified instructors. Always communicate with your training partners and listen to your body.
